Find a simple map from the internet. The best maps are those with just two colours - one for the ocean one for land. You dont need to worry about the colours as you can change these later. Import the map to the library.
I found mine here . You can see the original image opposite:
Step 2: Create a symbol
Right click in the Library palette and choose new symbol. Select the graphic option.
Step 3: Resize
Drag the map graphic into the stage. Use the transform tool to Resize the graphic as needed.
Step 4: Tace the bitmap
With the bitmap selected, choose Modify> Bitmap > Trace Bitmap. Click OK to use default settings.
Click outside the image to deselect it.
Click anywhere on the ocean and then press delete.
Step 5: Change the colours
Select the whole map and then choose a suitable Fill colour for the earth.
Step 5: Copy
Hold down the shift and Alt keys and then click and drag the map to the right to make a duplicatethat is perfectly aligned to the original.
