Flying Text tutorial

Task 1: Type in some text with the text tool. In the properties inspector select 96 for the font sizze. Use the Align panel to center the text.

In the colour palette select 15% for the Alpha value

 

Task 2

Copy the text (Ctrl+C).

Create a new layer.

Paste the text into the new layer and move it to the left, out of the way,

Task 3

Select the original text. Choose Modify>Break apart (Ctrl + B)

 

Task 4

Choose Modify>Timeline Distribute to layers

This will put each letter on to a seperate layer.

Task 5

Move the text you copied earlier to the center of the stage and above the previous text.

Resize this text - (this will be the final text size of the animation. I chose a size of 65 pixels)

Set the Alpha value to 100%

Task 6

Modify>break apart

Modify >Timeline > Distribute to layers as before.

 

Task 7

Shift select all these new frames

Go to Edit>Timeline

Copy frames

 

choose

Edit > Timeline > Remove frames

 

Delete each of the layers containing the smaller text and Delete Layer 1 and Layer 2

 

Task 8

Select frame 5 on the first layer. Shift click on the last layer at frame 5. This will select all the 5th frames of each layer.

Choose Edit >timeline >paste frames

You should now have the larger faded letters at frames 1-4 and at frame 5 you should see only the small letters

Task 9 Add the Tween

Select all the frame 5's

Choose Shape tween from the properties panel

 

Make sure each frame 5 is still selected and choose modify>break apart.

Select frame 1 of each layer. Choose shape tween from the drop down menu.

Make sure each frame 1 is still selected and choose modify>break apart.

Task 10:

Shift select frame 1-5 for the second layer and move it two frames to the right.

Repeat for each layer, adding two frames each time.

Task 11:

Add a final frame at frame 30.
