Middle School students wear a specially designed hat and T-shirt on their field
trips each year.

The Design Brief
Before you can can start a design project you must know the ‘problem’ to solve. Sometimes this may be given to you as a question set by the teacher or in business a client will ask you to solve a problem or create a product for them. It is usually a short paragraph of writing that sets out their objectives. The ‘design brief’ includes the following:
- Challenge - (Background / The actual problem) - A short sentence that describes the main problem to be solved. i.e. The Middle school go on a field trip every year and the school community would like to leave with a common identity.
-
Response - (The Designer's Task / What the successful design will do) - What you as a designer must create / what the successful design must achieve. die. The school needs a T-shirt and hat that can be worn by all our students and represents us on our trips.
