You must keep a dated process journal for the create stage of the design cycle. Our focuss is on the ATL area of interaction. -

You should reflect on some/all of the following aspects of approaches to learing during your process journal writing.

  • organization:
    • time management—including using time effectively in class, keeping to deadlines
    • self-management—including personal goal setting, organization of learning materials

      Key questions to answer:

      • What aspects of my organization do I need to develop?
      • How can I best organize myself?
  • reflection
    • self evaluation — the keeping of a process journals and portfolios, reflecting at different stages in the learning process
    • self-awareness—including seeking out positive criticism, reflecting on areas of perceived limitation

      Key questions to answer:

      • How do I reflect?
      • How have my reflections helped me learn
  • thinking:
    • developing questions
    • generating ideas—including the use of brainstorming
    • planning—including storyboarding and outlining a plan

    • What tools can help me think in different ways?
    • What planning tools do I have?
  • transfer of knowledge:
    • applying skills and knowledge in unfamiliar situations (while learning a new software application)
