PLANNING

Plan objectives

  • devise, with guidance, a series of logical steps to create the product/solution
  • construct a plan to create the product/solution that makes effective use of resources and time
  • analyse the plan and explain the need for any modifications to the design.

Planning is a very important part of the Design Cycle. There is a lot to do when you start to make your game. You need to work out what order to things in and how long it will take. Some stages may be difficult. You might already be worried about making one piece or paining another. What will you do if there is a problem? What happens if you run out of one type of wood?

When will you check the quality of your work?
You may need to make changes to your plan. Make sure you write down these changes and explain what you did and why.

Devise, with guidance, a series of logical steps to create the product/solution

The main stages

  • You need to put the things you need to do in order in each of the stages
  • Use a method of your choice to show the order of each task.
  • This could be a table or a flow chart or any other appropriate method.
  • Each task should be described in detail. What tools will you use? Safety? Possible problems? Places to take special care?\

Evaluate your plan. ( Evaluate: To write about your product, an idea or the design process, after carefully thinking, “What is good about it?” and “What is bad about it?” )

Do you think you can make the design? Should you make some changes?

construct a plan to create the product/solution that makes effective use of resources and time

Time
Write down when you will complete each task .

  • Your deadline is 24th April.
  • You need to make a table showing every lesson and at least one homework! between now and the 24th April
  • You then need to write down what you will be doing during each lesson

The tools and materials:

Refer to your final design. Write a list of the matewrials that you will need.

analyse the plan and explain the need for any modifications to the design.

  • Look at the timing again, is it realistic? Should you make some changes?
  • your plan will change as you go through the create stage. This does not matter, just explain the changes in your process journal.\
  • Have you done enough for a 6? Check here.

Evaluation and Approaches to Learning

Under the title of "Plan evaluation" you need to add the following to your evaluation document.

A. The Process / Approaches to learning including:

    organization skills. -

time management—including using time effectively in class, keeping to deadlines
self-management—including personal goal setting, organization of learning materials

    • What organizational tools do I have?
    • What aspects of my organization do I need to develop?
    • How can I best organize myself?

    Attitude to work (this unit)

    collaboration

working in groups—including delegating and taking responsibility, adapting to roles, resolving group conflicts, demonstrating teamwork

accepting others—including analysing others’ ideas, respecting others’ points of view, using ideas critically

personal challenges—including respecting cultural differences, negotiating goals and limitations with peers and with teachers

    • How do I work with others?
    • What successes have I had when I have worked with others?
    • How can I work with others; how can they work with me?

    B. The content of your work -

what level do you think you have achieved in this section? Explain your answer.

suggest ways to improve the quality of your work in the future.
