This is what the MYP says about Evaluate

    Objectives
    • carry out tests to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification
    • evaluate the success of the product/solution in an objective manner based on testing, their own views and the views of the intended user
    • evaluate the impact of the product/solution on individuals and/or on society
    • explain how the product/solution could be improved.
    • evaluate  their performance at each stage of the design cycle
    • suggest ways in which their performance could be improved.

    1-2

    The student evaluates the product/solution or his or her own performance. The student makes some attempt to test the product/solution.

    3-4

    The student evaluates the product/solution and his or her own performance and suggests ways in which these could be improved. The student tests the product/solution to evaluate it against the design specification.

    5-6

    The student evaluates the success of the product/solution in an objective manner based on the results of testing, and the views of the intended users. The student provides an evaluation of his or her own performance at each stage of the design cycle and suggests improvements. The student provides an appropriate evaluation of the impact of the product/solution on life, society and/or the environment.


    Some possible activities to achieve your objectives:

    • What were you trying to achieve with the creation of your product? - See your design brief.
    • Assess the aesthetic/musical qualities of your presentation
    • Test your final presentation as described during the Investigation stage. Have you achieved your aim as described in question 1? explain your answer.
    • Suggest ways of improving your presentation.
    • Assess the efficiency of the process (including time) and suggest ways of improving it.
    • Reflect on your overall performance at each stage the design cycle (you will?/should! have already been reflecting on your work as you have tackled each of the design stages. Collate all the information you have so far under these headings: Investigation, Design, Plan, Create, Evaluate. add more reflection as required)
    • Evaluate the impact of your video on life, society and/or the environment.
